The European Seminar will be held at the FIAP Jean Monnet in Paris, on the 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 April 2015:
- We have targeted the European countries were we have partner organisations: UK, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Sweden, Czech Republic.
- The younger generations, as well as older age groups, who participate in demonstrations in their countries, organised by our anti racist partners, and/or who are involved in social networks working towards equality and against discrimination. They have been selected because they want to share their experience in fighting against all forms of discrimination.
- Participants will, on average, be aged between 20 and 30. We will ask the participating organisations to ensure that there is a gender balance among their activists

Tuesday 14 April
- POLICIES FOR YOUTHS TO MEET DECISION-MAKERS TO SUBMIT THEIR PROPOSALS:
WORKSHOP N° 1
- What is the best form of education against racism in schools, high schools and universities? What civic education and history programmes will best transmit the values of equality, fraternity and secularity? What pedagogical actions should be implemented in schools to fight against racism, anti-Semitism, islamophobia, etc. .
- How can we use the experiences and practices already in place in European countries such as Belgium (kif’kif), Italy (SOS racism Rome)?
WORKSHOP N° 2
- What policies should be implemented concerning the right of residency for foreign high school pupils and university students?
- Comparisons of French policies with other countries such as Austria (SOS Mitmnensch), Spain (SOS racism Barcelone).
Wednesday 15 April
WORKSHOP N° 3
- What means should young people facing discrimination in recruitment, in access to housing and discotheques be entitled to use in order to establish the necessary proof of this discrimination and have them condemned by the judicial system?
- Testing experiences: with our European partners and with 30 young French students
- Comparison with experiences with Konexe in Czech Republic and with SOS Racism Italy, who both who undertook testings.
WORKSHOP N° 4
- What policy would ensure that youths who have opted for professional high schools have the right to take qualifying internships in companies?
- SOS internship experiences led by MDP-MDE. Round table with a company director, a headmaster, a municipal councillor for youth policy.
- Comparison with the experience of Jungen Ig Metal (Germany) and with the experience of FTGB, Belgium. Comparison with opinion polls in France with European-wide opinion polls.
Thursday 16 April
WORKSHOP N° 5
- What actions would lead to companies opening their doors, without any discrimination, to youth? (solutions: anonymous CVs, video CVs, etc.)
- For this workshop, round table with a HR director and a trade unionist (CGT) and a municipal councillor for youth policy.
- Comparison with the experiences of anonymous CVs in other European countries: Germany (since November 2010) and Belgium.
WORKSHOP N° 6
- What can we do to change state and stage company policies to allow foreign youths to apply for competitive exams leading to statutory posts and positions in the civil service?
- Foreign youths living in Europe are more badly affected by unemployment than European citizens of the same age group. Comparison with Great Britain and the Netherlands.
Friday 17 Avril
WORKSHOP N° 7
- “Stereotypically” foreign youths and the police: how should members of the police force behave towards citizens not of Caucasian/”non-European” origin, particularly for ID checks.
- With the “Stop le contrôle au faciès” organisation, we will hear about the analysis and the experience of SOS Racism Italy and SOS Racism Spain.
